Magazines Canada has signed a letter of intent with Messenger Bag Media to manage the day-to-day functions of the association. As part of the deal, Chris Radley has been appointed executive director of Magazines Canada.

In a letter to members, Radley said two top priorities are to overhaul the Magazines Canada website into a streamlined, user-friendly portal, and to revive membership efforts.

Radley also reports that Magazines Canada met with a senior staff member at Google regarding Bill C-18, and explained that most magazines are not included in the Bill and yet most would have to deal with losses if Google turns off search results for Canadian media. The Google exec was not able to provide any additional information regarding the move.
