Magazines on the Hill Breakfast meeting with Delegation
Magazines on the Hill represented the Magazine Media Industry at a breakfast meeting with the Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH). It was a great opportunity for them to give PCH updates on the successes and challenges the industry has gone through post pandemic. They discussed how Bill C-18 and C-11 will impact various publishers in the industry. They advocated to have further talks about potentially having Special Measures for Journalism become a permanent part of the Canadian Periodical Fund.

PCH advised they are pleased with the opening of their new portal and submissions came through successfully. They are hoping to send out approval notices by February 2024. Aid to Publishers launched two weeks ago and the deadline is November 30. Everyone in the delegation and PCH appreciated being able to sit down in person in order to have these important conversations. Information provided by Magazines Canada.
