Harrowsmith releases 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition

Harrowsmith’s Fall 2026 50th Anniversary Almanac, released August 31 as “the ultimate keepsake”, features 288 pages of “history, heritage and hellery,” farm dogs, 2027 garden suggestions, heirloom recipes, books to read, best performing plants, a tribute to Canada’s diverse farmers, and much more. An Anniversary Section includes five classic cake recipes – from a depression-era chocolate vinegar cake to crab cakes. Chef Cynthia Peters shares her expertise on preparing a classic French dinner party.
There are conversations with a cider maker, dairy farmers, a cookbook author, winery owner, and organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, who are making nature experiences more accessible. There are casual chats with Canadians about worm compost, agrivoltaics, PEI’s Island Walk, bison burgers, and Toronto Botanical Garden’s summer nature camps. Harrowsmith continues to celebrate rural and urban communities through fascinating storytelling.
