Travel + Escape expands with digital mag
Travel + Escape, a digital speciality television channel and website owned by Blue Ant Media, has launched a digital magazine available on the iPhone/iPad, with an Android version to come.
"The Travel + Escape magazine is a creative step for this brand which already has a strong online following," said Simon Foster, senior vice president of digital publishing and business development, in a release. "Our goal is to delight our readers as they discover some of the most exhilarating destinations."
Each monthly issue will take advantage of its digital format with interactive maps, real-time location info, and an interactive 360-degree image using gyroscope technology, which allows users to simulate moving within an image by moving their mobile device. The first edition includes videos, photo galleries, and high res time-lapse photography of Yosemite National Park.
The Travel + Escape app is available for free from the App Store. Single issues are $1.99 and a yearly subscription costs $14.99. Blue Ant Media notes that integration and sponsorship options are available.
The launch follows the start last year of a digital-only magazine for Blue Ant Media's music channel, Aux. The company also owns Cottage Life, which will launch a television channel in the fall, and Bite TV.
