2022–23 Annual Report

The Canada Council for the Arts has released its 2022–23 Annual Report, highlighting the progress made during the second year of its 2021–26 strategic plan, while providing an overview of the year’s accomplishments. Here’s a glimpse of the Canada Council’s impact as of March 31, 2023:$384M in total grants, prizes and payments were awarded to recipients in 2,077 communities across Canada.

2,188 arts organizations received $228.9M in funding. 27% of project funding totalling $56.7M was allocated to 2,498 first-time recipients. 683 artists and arts professionals served as peer assessors, of which 299 were first-time peer assessors. $14.8M in Public Lending Right payments were shared amongst a total of 18,192 creators.
