Ricardo magazine cooks something up for English readers

The French language food magazine Ricardo will now be available in an English edition.

Launched 12 years ago, the publication currently reaches 742,000 Quebecers per issue, and now aims to expand to cater to English-speaking Canadians with three issues due in 2014 and six in 2015.

The magazine will not be a copy and paste of the French edition, rather a compilation of recipes and tips from contributors that will appeal to Canadians coast to coast.

"A national magazine was our dream from day one," celebrity chef Ricardo Larrivée said in a press release. "We waited for our company and our team to be ready to go nationwide and the time has come."

The first English installment of Ricardo will be available on Sept. 15.
