New media outlet for Black, Indigenous and people of colour
 
 
A new Canadian media outlet is launching later in the year elevate and celebrate the voices and stories of Black, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC).

 

The Resolve, founded by Matthew DiMera, former managing editor at Xtra and acting editor-in-chief at rabble.ca, aims to reimaging the traditional narrative, and to dive deeper, explain complex issues, and look to solutions on issues that impact the communities it serves.

 

According to its website, the platform will tie directly into a vision to connect journalism to action. The new “resolve” is a renewed determination to use journalism to help strengthen and support BIPOC communities, and to build a more equitable form of journalism for them.

 

Until its launch, The Resolve is engaging and building its audience via a weekly email newsletter, and is building a roster of writers across the country.
