Losses continue at Postmedia

Postmedia reported a $36.7 million loss for the six-month period ending February 28, 2023, compared to a loss of $26.5 million a year earlier. Revenue for the period totaled $236.0 million compared to $222.1 million in 2022.

Parcel services accounted for the revenue increase while advertising revenue dropped by $5.9 million or 47%, and circulation revenue declined by $5.1 million or 6.3%.

Earlier this year it was announced that Postmedia was in merger talks with Toronto Star owner NordStar, but the talks were terminated before any deal was signed.
