The Fraser Institute is hosting the 2024 Journalism Conference, featuring two exclusive in-person professional development courses for Canadian journalists. The Economics for Journalists and Policy for Journalists programs will take place in November in Calgary, AB. These programs are designed to deepen journalists' understanding of economics andpublic policy. This program is designed to equip one to confidently report on the current economy and political landscape. Economics for Journalists focuses on building a robust foundation of terminology and concepts with real-world examples, while Policy for Journalists delves into complex topics and significant policies affecting Canadians. Please note, the Policy for Journalists program requires  a solid understanding of economics and an interest in public policy for this advanced course. These opportunities are open to TV, radio, print, and new media journalists across Canada.
