Held in October, the event teamed 10 Nova Scotia interior design groups with 10 local chefs to create unique dinner room displays matched with menus inspired by the decor. It also included galleries of local art, a silent auction, and drink samples from local producers.
The money will go toward design education efforts at the university through the Amber Harkins Memorial Scholarship Fund, named after East Coast Living's late long-time editor and creative director. Harkins passed away from cancer in 2012.
The 2014 Dine By Design East gala is scheduled for October 9, 2014 with public viewings taking place October 10 to 12 at Olympic Gardens in Halifax.
