Chatelaine celebrates with new logo, four covers
Chatelaine unveiled a new logo that adorns four versions of the May issue. The variant covers will have equal representation on newsstands and will be alternately mailed to subscribers.

An upper-case wordmark in sans serif Neutraface 2 font, the new logo is "modern and stylish with a good measure of substance," reads a post on the mag's website. A stylized circumflex on the first 'A' means the logo works in both English and French (the logo will debut in Chatelaine French in the June issue).

Speaking with Marketing magazine, editor-in-chief Jane Francisco said "the [previous] logo wasn't keeping up with the design and the voice of the brand."

According to Marketing, the variant covers are part of an advertising deal with home renovations retailer Rona. The company's Collection line of paints was used for the covers' colour palettes, and Rona is the sole sponsor in Chatelaine's Home Decor 101 SIP.

Published by Rogers Media, Chatelaine is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Later this year Chatelaine Edition, the brand's TV platform airing on City's Cityline, will expand with a radio presence, and new recipe apps will be released for smartphones. The brand will also be unveiling a line of consumer products, including housewares. A special 85th anniversary issue is slated for June and a gala event will follow in the fall.
