2023 starts with media layoffs in US
  
 
Axios reports that a slew of media companies have made significant job cuts.

 

• Dotdash Meredith is the latest company to announce it’s cutting 7% of employees       

• Adweek, a trade publication covering the ad industry, cut 10% of its workforce

• Vox Media, owners of The Verge, Thrillist and New York magazine, laid off 7% of its staff, about 133 employees

• Fandom, whose brands include Giant Bomb,

 GameSpot and Metacritic. Released about 10% of staff

• NBC News and MSNBC laid off about 75 staffers across divisions

• The Washington Post is expected to cut a single-digit percentage of its workforce
