More changes at Canadian Business and Maclean's
Just over a month after his appointment as publisher of Canadian Business, Ken Whyte has made some big changes. Joe Chidley, CB's editor-in-chief since 2000, has been promoted to editor and associate publisher of the special projects unit at Maclean's and Canadian Business magazines, while Steve Maich, previously the executive editor at Maclean's, is now CB's EIC and associate publisher.

In his new role, Chidley will be responsible for the Maclean's annual University Rankings and Guide and CB's Investor 500 ranking, the Rich 100 ranking, as well as the MBA Guide, which he created.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Maclean's while still having the opportunity to continue working with my colleagues at Canadian Business," Chidley said in a release. "Not only will I have the honour of shaping the voice of some of the most high-profile and respected education packages in the country, I'll be doing so at a publication where I spent the early years of my career in journalism."

On the Maclean's books, Chidley will replace Tony Keller, managing editor of special projects, who was let go by the company, along with CB art director Tim Davin and CanadianBusiness.com general manager Marc Reppin.

While at Maclean's, Maich mostly covered business, both as a reporter and columnist. Recently, he started writing an "Econowatch" section for the magazine and website.
