The Tyee sees a small shift in its editorial team
David Beers, founding editor of online magazine The Tyee has stepped down as the editor-in-chief and has moved into the role of executive editor to focus on strategic opportunities to expand and strengthen the Vancouver-based publication.
In an online statement Beers said the shift was not for monetary reasons and that The Tyee remains in such good financial standings due to committed investors, record levels of advertising revenue and successful fundraising drives.
The current editorial staff will stay the same, though they are now looking to hire an editor-in-chief to take over Beers former role, which means taking on the day-to-day responsibilities at the independent publication.
Those interested in the position have until July 5 at midnight to apply.
