The Black Collective Media, a new media company in PEI, recently launched its website and first magazine, The Block, to amplify the voices of the BIPOC community.

Black Collective Media, the brainchild of Tara Reeves, Bianca Pilar Garcia and Daniel Ohaegbu, all Island residents, launched its magazine in early February. The 90-page issue features interviews, photography, poetry and recipes that showcase Black culture and Black excellence on PEI.

The company expects to release two to four issues per year, and the team is currently looking to build out its roster of writers.
