"As a key member of the Publishing senior leadership team, Derek’s mandate is to provide strategic vision and leadership for our Consumer-based editorial teams, and help guide the shift toward new types of digital content on multiple platforms, while still producing the country’s best magazines," reads an email to Masthead from Rogers Media.
John Stackhouse, editor-in-chief of The Globe and Mail, said in a memo that deputy editor Mark Heinzl will take over for DeCloet while the paper searches for a permanent replacement. J-Source.ca has the full memo.
DeCloet was hired by the Globe in 2003 and promoted to ROB managing editor in 2009. He became editor of the section in 2012.
