Paul Godfrey now Chairman
|
Paul Godfrey is stepping down as CEO of Postmedia Network Canada Corp. but will remain as executive chairman of the company, which owns the National Post, Vancouver Province, London Free Press, Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Sun Newspapers and other newspapers. Godfrey has led Postmedia since its inception in 2010. In 2016 he cut 800 jobs at Postmedia to try to stem mounting losses.
He has been blamed by some for a drop in editorial quality.
Andrew MacLeod, who has been Godfrey's second in command since 2016, becomes Postmedia's chief executive officer.
