National dance magazine launches online platform
Dance Media Group unveiled thedancecurrent.com, a new website for The Dance Current magazine. Weekly content will include event listings, videos, columns, features and news.
Along with online exclusives, the site also houses the print mag's 140-issue archive, with back issues available for purchase in digital format.
According to the 2012-2013 media kit a one-time vertical ad runs for $190. Bundle packages are available for cross-platform promo, which along with print and web ads include placements in the monthly e-newsletter and tweets to promote events.
The launch coincides with National Dance Week, presented by the Canadian Dance Assembly and running from April 22-29. "We invite professionals, practitioners, dance students and fans to visit thedancecurrent.com throughout the week and learn something new about dance in your country," said executive director Megan Andrews in a release.
Andrews is also publisher and founding editor, and Kathleen Smith is editor. The site was developed by Toronto's Razorbraille Creative with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The print magazine, launched in 1998, releases six issues a year.
