Key dates released for Aid to Publishers funding

The Aid to Publishers (ATP) component of the federal government’s Canada Periodical Fund (CPF) provides eligible Canadian publishers of printed magazines, printed community newspapers and digital periodicals, with financial support to produce quality Canadian editorial content for Canadian readers. The timing recently changed for 2026-2027 funding.
Here are some key dates for publishers:
• February 2, 2026, at 8 am (ET). The ATP application intake period begins, and Application Guidelines are released online.
• February 6, 2026. For late circulation reports that need to be audited, send data to CMCA (audit@newsmediacanada.ca) by this date to get the process started in time for the ATP deadline.
• March 16, 2026. The deadline for the ATP application intake period is 4 pm (ET). The new application guidelines be available February 2, 2026, posted online at 8 am. Publishers must create or access their Canadian Heritage Funding Portal account to apply online.
