Canadian Living releases first-ever beauty cover
Known for its palate-teasing food covers, Canadian Living has decided to give subscribers something different—a beauty cover featuring Canadian actor and health advocate Lisa Ray. The newsstand cover features a chocolate cake.

Ray was the subject of the magazines first-ever live beauty shoot in Toronto, in February. During the shoot Ray took part in a two hour Twitter chat that garnered over 13.2 million impressions. Behind the scenes footage can be viewed on the Canadian Living website.

“Canadian Living readers want to feel healthy and look beautiful on their own terms–and Lisa Ray really walks this talk. That’s what made her the perfect choice for our first-ever beauty cover,” Sandra E. Martin, multiplatform editorial director of Canadian Living said. “In the past year, Canadian Living readers have spent more than $662 million on makeup [PMB Fall 2014], so we know just how important it is to offer beauty content that keeps them up-to-date on trends and, even more importantly, helps them interpret those trends in ways that work for them. Lisa Ray helped us achieve this in our June issue, and her inspirational, practical tips will definitely resonate with our readers.”

Currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, Canadian Living reaches 2.2 million Canadian women. According to the PMB Spring 2015 report, the publication also reaches more women who purchased beauty products in the past month.  The June issue is on newsstands now for $3.99, and the iPad edition is available in the App Store from May 12-19 for $1.19.
