Canadian Business Media wants to strengthen B2B publishing
Canadian Business Media, a national trade association representing the B2B media industry in Canada, is launching various marketing, promotion, communication, education, networking and recognition initiatives, in order to boost and sustain support within the industry.
Formerly known as Canadian Business Press, CBM will continue to produce the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards, an annual event that celebrates outstanding achievements in the B2B industry.
CBM has also launched B2Blog for B2B Publishers, a resource that is also aimed at building a stronger community. The new tool will offer relevant, timely, educational and compelling information about B2B publishing.
“The role of CBMA is to foster excellence in the trade press though open dialogue and collaboration. It’s the place where as B2B publishing professionals we can meet, discuss and even defend our sector’s position on issues that confront us,” John Kerr, CEO, Kerrwill Publications Limited and CBM board member said. “Most important, it’s a place where company size doesn’t matter, but where the individuals that drive these companies meet as equals. Our role, simply put, is to make sure the role of the business media in Canada is guarded and protected through the right focus on what’s important for Canadian trade publishers.”
Joining Kerr on the board of directors is treasurer James O. Hall, president and COO, Keith Communications Inc., and directors Alex Papanou, president, Annex Newcom LP, Michael Swam, president of Swan Erickson Publishing Inc., and Kevin Brown, president of MediaEdge Communications.
