On April 25, members gathered online for Access Copyright’s 2024 Annual General Meeting.Financial results for 2024 included: realized $14.148 million in revenue in 2024 with total expenses coming in at $3.430 million. For 2024, the organization ended in a favourable financial position of $1.884 million, reflecting careful management of expenses following the completion of an organizational restructuring at the end of 2023, the winding down of Imprimo and the shift to a remote-first workplace.Distributions for 2024 totalled $7.691 million. With the conclusion of the K-12 litigation action combined with Access Copyright transitioning to a supporting role in advocacy, as of 2024, Access Copyright has ceased the 5% withholding of revenues directed toward tariff, litigation and advocacy costs. This change will result in modestly higher distributions to rights holders in 2025 and for the foreseeable future.
      Access Copyright’s operational plan for 2025 focuses on implementing the organization’s 2025-2028 strategic plan, which was adopted in December 2024. Strategic initiatives for the coming year related to the following goals:Increase sales of licences to Canadian organizations,Raise awareness about copyright, Build a performance-based culture, and Increase operational efficiency.
