People in Publishing: Changes at Toronto Life, Transcontinental, ABC
David Hamilton has been appointed publisher of Toronto Life. Hamilton has been with Rogers Publishing (formerly Maclean Hunter) for more than 30 years, serving as publisher of Flare and Hello! Canada.
Transcontinental Media has announced the appointment of Philippe Lapointe as senior vice president of multiplatform media development. Prior to joining the Transcontinental team, Lapointe was president of Productions Pixcom in Quebec. Transcontinental Media also appointed Mathieu Peloquin as vice president of marketing. Peloquin previously served as vice president of marketing for the company's new media and digital solutions group.
Kirby Miller, senior vice president of House and Home Media (publishers of Canadian House & Home), is now chairman of The Print Measurement Bureau (PMB). The past chair, Fred Auchterlonie, reached the maximum term for a PMB chair.
Jo-Anne Craine has been named managing editor of Wedding Essentials. She previously contributed features as well as serving as copy editor for the magazine and its sister publication, The Savvy Bride.
The Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) has promoted Neal Lulofs to executive vice president of communications and strategic planning, as well as general manager of ABCi, the organization's digital unit. Lulofs joined ABC in 2005 as vice president of communications.
Kat Tancock is now the new media editor at Food & Drink. She has been involved with several publications including Reader's Digest as senior web editor and Canadian Living as web editor. She is also a blogger for Masthead.
