Hearst Corporation completes acquisition
Hearst Corporation in the U.S. has completed its acquisition of a 49% interest in Les Publications Transcontinental-Hachette Inc. in Canada, as part of its overall acquisition of the international magazine businesses of Lagardère, according to a release.
Transcontinental Media and Hearst Corporation announced the completion June 1, adding that Les Publications Transcontinental-Hachette has become Les Publications Transcontinental-Hearst Inc.
Les Publications Transcontinental-Hachette is a joint venture of Transcontinental Media and France-based Lagardère, which publishes the ELLE Canada and ELLE Québec magazines. The ELLE Canada and ELLE Québec magazines will continue to be published by Les Publications Transcontinental-Hearst, noted the release.
Rogers Media is the exclusive sales agent for Hearst Digital’s properties in Canada. Fulfillment company CDS Global is owned by Hearst, and Transcontinental is a client.
