Alberta Magazine award winners announced
The winners were announced at a gala dinner hosted by the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association, held at the Carriage House, on Thursday, March 24. Magazine professionals from across the province attended the event, as well as prominent figures including Anthony Licata of the 116-year-old U.S. publication Field & Stream.
The awards were split into six categories: Cover, Feature Design, Short Editorial, Photo, Illustration and Alberta Story. The big winner was Alberta Venture, claiming the Best Photo, Best Cover and Best Illustration awards.
IT magazine techlife won the Best Alberta Story award, while the fitness magazine IMPACT won Best Short Editorial.
Three achievement awards were also announced. Recently launched literary magazine Eighteen Bridges won the Best New Magazine award, and Avenue Calgary’s Käthe Lemon claimed the Editor of the Year award.
