A gentle reminder, the deadline to enter the 34th annual National Magazine Awards is today, January 14.

All written award categories now accept digital submissions, with the exception of Best Editorial Package.



With the majority of written categories accepting digital work, the National Magazine Awards has reserved Best Digital Design and Best Multimedia Feature for digital-only submissions.

Conceptual Photography has been added to the Visual Category, described as being for any photograph or series of photos where an idea or concept is portrayed.

The Special Category has combined the award for Best New Magazine Writer and Best New Visual Creator to create one for Best New Creative Talent. The award will go to a written or visual creator whose work shows the highest degree of craft and promise in digital or print. It is open to students or contributors with a maximum of three years experience. 


The 34th annual National Magazine Awards will celebrate winners in 43 categories on June 10 in Toronto. The National Magazine Awards are produced by the National Magazine Awards Foundation, headed this year by SpaFax Canada editorial director Arjun Basu.
