Magazines Canada bares all for 15th annual media planners event
Magazines Canada is hosting The Naked Truth About Magazines, its 15th annual event for media planners with less than a year's experience in the business.

The free event, sponsored by the Ontario Media Development Corporation is being held February 17 at the InterContinental Toronto from 8:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.. The objective of the half-day event is to immerse new media planners in the digital and print magazine world, says Magazines Canada executive director, advertising services Gary Garland. “This event is often the first real face-to-face contact with the magazine industry for these planners,” he says. “The first interaction with people who are attempting to educate them on how this medium works.”

Garland says planners learn the benefits of magazines through a research presentation, role play involving responding to a agency request for proposal as a magazine sales professional and a panel discussion. “The event is also to inspire them and get them thinking beyond social media and digital,” he says. “To boil it down it is all about role and benefits.”
