Magazine printer Fred Thornley passes away
Fred Thornley, co-owner and vice-president of Oshawa, Ont.-based General Printers, passed away Saturday Jan. 8 after a battle with breast cancer. He was 63.
Thornley worked at General for more than 45 years and was a fixture in the Toronto-area magazine industry for many years (and friend to Masthead). General is a significant sheetfed magazine printer.
He leaves his wife Dianne, daughters Kristine and Michelle and many other family members and golf and boating buddies. He volunteered for many Oshawa-area community groups. Funeral service is today at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in Oshawa. A full obituary can be found by clicking here.
