Metro relaunch to include 2 Magazine collaboration
The relaunch of Metro’s daily free newspaper next Tuesday will include content from 2: The Magazine for Couples.
2 Magazine associate publisher and editor in chief Neil Morton says its Smug Married columnists will appear in the lifestyle section and staff will be providing content such as date night suggestions and top 10 ideas applicable to couples. “Metro editor Charlotte Empey and I both thought the collaboration was a great fit,” says Morton. “We both go after the same demographic, are both gender neutral. But we bring the expertise on relationships, that’s the value we bring to them.”
The agreement, which will see 2 Magazine’s contributions in six of Metro’s seven markets is part of the magazines ongoing strategy to distribute content through multiple channels, says Morton. “Through You Tube with our Ed & Jenny cartoon, on the iPad and now in Metro,” he says. “We are working to build brand awareness.”
