The attention of much of the world will be on Vancouver in shortly over a week with the start of the Winter Olympics. The Walrus is celebrating the host city with four Vancouver covers of its March issue.

Co-publisher of The Walrus and executive director of The Walrus Foundation Shelley Ambrose says the idea to use four different cover images, shot by photographer Grant Harder came to the team after they had been taken. “The photographer was assigned to shoot photos of the city and when they came back art director Brian Morgan was extremely impressed with the of images,” she says. “That Vancouver could look so different, because that is the point of the story (titled “A tale of two cities”, written by Gary Stephen Ross).”

The covers will be distributed randomly, says Ambrose so two neighbors who both subscribe could receive different images and newsstands will get an uneven number of each. A poster with all of the four images is available on Walrusmagazine.com for $99.

Next up for The Walrus, says Ambrose is The Walrus Eats, a fundraising event featuring author of Why Your World is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller Jeff Rubin and chef Jamie Kennedy. The event, which Ambrose says is very important to the foundation is happening Thursday, February 25 at Jamie Kennedy at the Gardiner. Tickets are available through The Walrus site.

The Walrus is published 10 times per year by the Walrus Foundation and has a paid circulation of 52,000. The March issue of the magazine is on newsstands now.
