To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Rogers Publishing’s Loulou magazine will throw a birthday party on Sept. 23 offering plenty of shopping discounts, giveaways and makeovers for its fashion-loving readers. The magazine has plenty to celebrate: since its 2004 launch, it has seen a 45% circulation increase in its English edition (and 21% in its French edition), reaching more than one million readers with each issue.

Loulou will celebrate its fifth anniversary with major retail discounts for readers and a performance by Kate Voegele.

The event will take place on Toronto’s Bloor Street between Yonge Street and Avenue Road from 5 to 9 p.m., with major discounts from a huge number of fashion retailers including Banana Republic, Gap, Guess, Joe Fresh Style (in a pop-up store at Sassafraz Restaurant in Yorkville), Puma, Town Shoes and Winners.

During the evening, there will be a musical performance by One Tree Hill actress, singer and Loulou’s September cover girl Kate Voegele. Guests can also enjoy refreshments, goodie bags, and free makeup applications from Revlon. To further engage their guests, Loulou editors will lead a discussion on the latest fall trends. In order to attend, guests must register in advance online.

For Loulou readers outside the Toronto area, there are two other ways to join in the celebrations. A separate block party will take place in Montreal on Sept. 24, for the magazine’s French edition. And for readers who can’t make it to either party, the magazine has created a special website offering daily discounts from major retailers and $10,000 in Visa prepaid cards to be won.
