Kenilworth Media outsources circ operations
Richmond, Hill, Ont.-based Kenilworth Media Inc., publisher of more than 20 b-to-b, consumer and association publications, will outsource the majority of its circulation operations to CDS Global beginning March 1. Services CDS will now handle include subscription fulfillment, BPA/CCAB audits, customer service calls, mail extraction and order preparation, imaging and data entry, e-commerce transactions, renewal and invoice work, and data management.

Kenilworth president Rudy Kral said outsourcing circ was “not a simple and quick decision.” In the past, the company had been approached by other publishers to manage their circ operations.

But having grown substantially since it was founded in purchased by Kral in 1999, Kenilworth found itself at a “crossroads,” Kral said, and had to choose between bulking up its own in-house operations or outsourcing.

“If you look at we are doing, we are great doing excellent editorial, design and sales,” Kral said. “Circulation is the component that, because we have trade and consumer titles, is best given to a company that does this stuff 24/7.”

Of the five people working in Kenilworth’s circulation department, four will be reassigned within the company while a fifth will be transferred to CDS Global.
