CSME offers advice on creating Web content

Two experienced Web editors will present “17 Ways to Create Great Content Online” at a luncheon organized by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors scheduled for next week.

 

The speakers are Shanda Deziel, managing editor at Macleans.ca, and Jennifer Melo, editor at Homemakers.com (full bios below).

The gathering will run from 12-1:30 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 13 at P.J. O’Brien’s in downtown Toronto. The cost, which includes lunch, is $30 for members and $50 for non-members.

Shanda Deziel is the Managing Editor of Macleans.ca and the former Managing Editor of AOL.ca. Shanda oversees all coverage of breaking news and feature writing for the Maclean’s website. She previously specialized in entertainment writing and has extensively covered politics and society for Maclean’s. She completed Graduate Studies in English at the University of Toronto.

Jennifer Melo is the web editor of homemakers.com, and was the founding editor of the Family & Relationships section of MochaSofa.ca. She has written articles for Styleathome.com and Canadian Living.com, and worked as an editor at CanadianLiving.com. She’s a graduate of Centennial College’s print journalism program and has been producing content for online readers since 2001.
