Canada Council for the Arts
An arms-length agency of the federal government, the Canada Council offers grants to literary and arts magazines.

Canada Periodical Fund
The CPF, run by the Department of Canadian Heritage, offers grant programs for qualifying magazines. The Aid to Publishers program is the largest component. Magazines must be Canadian owned and operated, have been in business at least one year, and have more than 50% paid or direct-request circulation to qualify. The smaller Business Initiatives program is project-based and is open to both print and online magazines. The CPF also runs a grant program for qualifying industry groups such as associations. The CPF was launched in 2010 and replaces the Canada Magazine Fund and the Publications Assistance Program (postal subsidy).

Ontario Media Development Corporation
An agency of the Ontario government, the OMDC offers Business Development and Marketing & Promotion grant programs for Ontario-based magazines.
