Riddle Fence May Close Because Of Printing Costs

Started in  2007 Newfoundland  arts and culture journal since 
Riddle Fence Newfoundland and Labrador arts and culture journal has released its milestone 50th issue, but without financial help, it might be its last. It was founded in 2007 as a literary magazine, is the only independent arts and culture journal in the province. The magazine gets funding from municipal, provincial and federal levels of government but it doesn't cover operating costs.Printing and distribution costs are have skyrocketed,  where literally every issue costs more than the last.

The publication launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000. The magazine's executive director, Elisabeth de Mariaffi, says the reaction has been positive. The magazine has sought out ways to raise money and cut costs, she said, including changing printers to get a better deal .Riddle Fence in 2022 announced it was launching an book publishing  imprint. Four books will be released in the spring, funding has been secured.
