Good news from Down Under

Though it’s far away, it’s a positive story and we can all use some good news.

Are Media in Australia, publisher of leading magazines such as Better Homes & Gardens, The Women’s Weekly, and TV Week, says it saw a 10% readership jump during the last quarter ended June.

Better Homes & Gardens was up 16% over the previous year, for an average readership of 1.82 million readers; Women’s Weekly, celebrating its 90th year, experienced a 10% year-over-year increase to 1.33 million readers, while its spin-off cooking title clocked in 18% higher readership. Women’s Day climbed 14% and TV Week was up 21%.

CEO Jane Huxley attributed the great news to a clear trend around offline media having a resurgence, connected to the overwhelming amount of content that people have to sift through online.
