Canadian post-secondary institutions receive CASE awards
The Circle of Excellence awards showcases exceptional work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing and is open to those working at member colleges, universities, independent schools and nonprofits around the world.
Lethbridge’s Wider Horizons publication received a gold award in the Community College Magazine category.
“We are thrilled with the recognition from CASE – and grateful to the leadership of the college for seeing the value of publishing a compelling, well-crafted alumni and community magazine,” managing editor Lisa Kozleski said.
There were over 3,000 submissions to the CASE awards from 630 institutions around the world. CASE recognized Wider Horizons spring and fall 2013 issue, which focused on topics of inspiration and discovery.
“An aspect that sets Wider Horizons apart from others is that we think of it as more than an alumni magazine,” Kozleski said. “The magazine goes out to about 18,000 alumni each issue, and to about 18,000 readers of Lethbridge Living, Lethbridge’s city magazine. The magazine is also delivered to about 1,800 local business and distributed on campus. So while alumni are essential to what we do—and we are always on the lookout to share the most captivating photos and stories of our alumni from around the world—we also make sure that each story is of interest to our community as well."
Wider Horizons is published each January, April and September. A digital copy is available online.
