Briefs & Bookmarks: Chez soi, Covet Garden, Coast to Coast
 
The 35th anniversary issue of Chez soi, on sale from April 11 to May 9, saw an increase in newsstand sales of over 250% according to TVA Publications.

The issue was sold for a special "vintage" price of $1.99, down from the regular $4.99. Chez soi also ran a reader contest tied to the occasion and TVA reports a 161% increase in web page views during the contest period.

Covet Garden reached its IndieGoGo campaign goal. The online mag sought $18,000 in donations to help produce a one-time special print edition, and has since raised over $20,000.

Coast to Coast Newsstand Services has complied the 2012 Canadian Newsstand Box Score. Scott Bullock looks at the top line data over at his Covers Sell blog.

favourites Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger tied the knot over the Canada Day long weekend. "And, just in case the multiple Internet reports weren’t enough for you," writes Canada.com, "[the mag] has decided to crawl up the Canadian rock royalty’s bum just a little more with a dedicated special edition dedicated to the twosome."

TC Media announced the November launch of its TC Media Incubator, which will oversee development of new digital products. Bruno Leclaire, whose track record at TC Media includes the launch of JobGo.ca and AutoGo.ca., was named chief digital officer.
