People in Publishing: New editor at This, publisher nominated for entrepreneur award
This magazine, which recently celebrated its 45th anniversary, has a new editor.
Lauren McKeon has joined the team in the editor's chair, replacing Graham Scott who is pursuing other endeavors. McKeon has worked as a reporter and editor in the Arctic for the past three years, while also serving two of those years as Toronto-based This magazine's front-of-book editor.
Her work has been honoured twice at the National Magazine Awards and at the Western Magazine Awards.
"I am delighted that we have been able to recruit someone of Lauren's ability to the magazine," said This publisher Lisa Whittington-Hill.
Ellen Kral, group publisher and chief executive officer of Kenilworth Publishing/Media in Richmond Hill, Ont., is one of three finalists for the PROFIT Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. A gala is planned in Toronto on Nov. 28. Read more about this nomination in Masthead blogger Scott Bullock's post.
