Pensions
The March/April 2014 issue of LEGION is set to hit newsstands on March 3rd, 2014.

The cover is the first in their history to go “all type”.

With a subject matter like pensions, as opposed to D Day, an action shot just wasn’t realistic.

Here’s what art director Jason Duprau had to say about the cover:

“Our March/April issue features our 2014 Veterans Benefits Guide. Not only is this our first Veterans Benefits Guide, it’s our first type-only cover on newsstands. Senior designer, Jen McGill, was tasked with designing the 21-page guide which features Infographics, charts, tables and helpful hints. The design, bold typography and colour palette in the layout were so strong, we wanted to pull these elements for use on the cover. We utilized a ‘Special Feature’ device along with clear sell lines, creating a sense of urgency by emphasizing the benefits every veteran could be missing. Lastly, we kept the skybar clean and simple so it didn’t compete with the body of the cover.”
