All editions of the ELLE brand will be going fur-free.

ELLE goes fur-less
ELLE International (including ELLE Canada) —in collaboration with Lagardère, Humane Society International and Creative for Change—announced that it’s ending the promotion of animal fur on all platforms: from print magazines to online to social media. The brand created a charter, which has been signed by all 45 worldwide editions of the magazine (including us!) It’s a new standard that will be applied to editorials, press, runway and street style images included in each issue of ELLE.

with our values,” and wanted to “take a stance on the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment.” With this decision, ELLE International becomes the first international magazine to make a statement like this. It’s an important step, and one that increases awareness of the environment and animal welfare. It also supports the demand for sustainable and ethical alternatives in the fashion industry. Already applied in 13 editions of ELLE, from January 1, 2022, this charter will apply to another 20 of them. For the remaining editions, readers will have to wait until 2023 to see them align themselves in this commitment.
