“The acquisition of these titles in Maine demonstrates our company’s belief in community journalism and regional publications,” said Crystal Murray, president of Advocate Media. “As our company grows with the expansion of titles, we also grow with great people who are passionate about this industry. In the coming weeks and months we will be nurturing these new relationships.”
This is Advocate's first American-based operation, but the organization already operates St. Croix Printing and Publishing that serves the border communities of St. Stephen, N.B., and Calais, Maine.
Advocate Media’s parent company, Advocate Printing and Publishing is one of the largest printing company in the Atlantic provinces. This purchase is expected to also add to its production and print operations as the new titles will be moved to production facilities in Atlantic Canada.
