Derek Finkle, founder of the Canadian Writers Group, an agency that plans to represent the interests of freelance writers in their negotiations with magazines, newspapers and online publications, will head west next week to court Vancouver-area scribes.
Two meetings are scheduled for Dec. 11, one for 3 p.m., the other for 7 p.m. Both will take place at Simon Fraser University in Room 1415, 515 West Hastings Street.
Finkle is also planning trips to Calgary and Montreal to hold meetings there in January.
A Canadian Magazines blog post on this same topic has attracted several interesting comments—most of them annonymous—from people who are quite critical and skeptical of the agency. Worth a look.
